GCDS #ONCEUPONAGCDS FW18 Collection

Luxury street-wear brand GCDS put on their FW18 collection show in Madrid recently. The collection has a clear active wear direction, with sport stripe over-the-knee boots and puffers. The collection has a large knitwear selection and lots of co-ords. I especially like the colour palette from which the collection has been made because it has a strong mix of pastel and rich colour. I love this brand as there is such attention to detail in both design and choice of textile...

The set design fro the FW18 show is simple, a green hill with a pastel pink pathway wrapped around it. The models emerge from a tent adorned with the GCDS logo as if all on some sort of camping trip to the countryside. The logo of the brand is re-interpreted each season with this season being Mickey Mouse-fantasy themed. When first viewing the show it reminded me of the Wizard of Oz because of the fantastical soundtrack playing. Its a show of fantasy which the viewers creative their own narrative.

I've picked some of my favourite looks from the show and made colour swatches to demonstrate the balance that has been stricken up by Giuliano Calza...
