Atelier's Brand Narrative

Atelier Cologne is a small boutique perfume house currently located in the heart of London’s Covent Garden. Established in 2009, Atelier’s founders Sylvie Ganter & Christophe Cervasel both share a passion in creating their modern interpretation of the classic cologne scent together.

The Atelier brand focuses on providing consumers with the richness of an eau de parfum with the delicate freshness of a citrus cologne. Both founders describe their love of creating cologne’s draws a parallel to their own love story. From having met in New York and both worked in luxury perfume houses and both of Italian descent, they both discovered they shared a passion of want to develop beautiful and indulgent colognes, each with their own personality and story to tell.

All of Atelier’s perfume produce are made in France with globally sourced oils, extracts and ingredients, which are combined together to create extraordinary scents that produce stunning perfumes.

As noted on their website they describe the drive behind their products is create “a moment in a bottle” for their customers and create “powerful lasting memories”. They describe their ranges as their new “olfactive family” which combines citruses and “raw materials for perfectly balanced creations and exceptional lasting power”. Their newest collection of Joie De Vivre pays homage to all thing summery and youthful. The scents within this range have fresh tones – fervently playing into their citrusy foundation but all based on differing ideals.

For example the Orange Sanguine is described as “sunshine in a bottle” with the ingredients of the perfume being blood orange from Italy, jasmine from Egypt and sandalwood from Indonesia. The colour of this particular scent is a elegant muted orange with the bottle being minimal, clear and simplistic which allows for the perfume and story it is due to tell, to speak for itself. In stark contrast within their other collection of Haute Couture, this collection epitomises all things “powerful, rich and precious” thus showing their versatility and openness to their clientele wants and needs.

Their personable approach to creating their perfumes can be felt through the stories they wish for their scents to tell. Naturally, all of their perfumes are open to interpretation from their customers who they put at the forefront of the business and brand. Each perfume comes with an engraved leather case for the perfume to sit in, the engravement being the choice of the particular client who wishes to buy from their ranges. The founders concede on their website that “Atelier Cologne was born out of [their chance] encounter and [their] love” for one another and this has been successfully translated through all the gorgeous and heartfelt colognes they have created together, ready for others to experience for themselves.
