Fragrance Photoshoot Reflection

Today my group and I had a photoshoot for our fragrance brand ‘Frë’. Whilst planning for the shoot we had many ideas but thought the best way to channel our immersive space into a photograph was to use coloured lights. This concept allows the model to be submerged in saturated colour, which mimics the same overwhelming feeling we want the consumer to feel when they step into our immersive space. Our photographs simulate the feeling of a sensory experience rooted in personal reflection and growth.

We casted three models to appear in the photographs as this allowed us to get both individual and group shots. Each model was briefed to wear neutral clothing as this would heighten the effect of the coloured lights. In order to obtain the effect of the coloured lights we covered two lights with A3 coloured acetate, rotating different colour combinations throughout the shoot. This allowed us to capture different moods and ultimately the different locations presented within our immersive space. To change the strength of each colour the lights were moved closer to or further away from the models.

Overall I think the photoshoot was really successful because the photographer was on the same wave length as us when it came to composition and colour differentiation. I love how the photos each have a different personality instantly because of the colour differences. If I were to re-do the shoot I’d want to use projections to make for a deeper experience for the viewer.
